Weddings
We are pleased to offer wedding services at any location you desire. All of our ceremonies are planned with the couple so that the ceremony fits who you really are, not what some canned, standardized wedding ceremony thinks you should be. All of our services include unlimited ceremony planning meetings, premarital counseling if desired by the couple, wedding rehearsal, ceremony, and reception attendance if you desire it. There is no church membership required, and we gladly perform wedding ceremonies for couples with children or any other special situation! We also are happy to perform renewal of wedding vows or other anniversary celebrations! We perform wedding services for all regardless of the gender of the two wishing to be married. Our officiants are able to perform weddings in TN, MS, and AR.
Currently we are offering two different wedding services:
The BASIC: $150.00 donation - This service is a quick, no frills service which includes the solemnization of your vows and the signing of the marriage license by the officiant. This service can be done at any location within Shelby County, TN. If outside that area the donation increases to $200.00 and mileage is charged round trip at 48 cents per mile. This option allows for only one or two guests.
This package includes the following:
- meeting with the couple at the location to solemnize the vows
- signing of marriage license
- filing of the marriage license
THE COMPLETE: $300 donation - This service is the full service with all the frills. This service can be done at any location within Shelby County, TN or at our Chapel in midtown. If outside that area the donation increases to $400.00 and mileage is charged round trip at 48 cents per mile. At least 7 days advance notice must be given. It is advisable to schedule your service as far in advance as possible.
This package includes the following:
- unlimited meetings with the Officiant to plan your wedding
- full customization of any of our wedding services or creating one of your own
- the Officiant will work with your Wedding Planner if you have one to ensure your service is one to remember
- our Wedding Planning Book which includes dozens of sample services and suggestions for all types of weddings
- availability of the wedding officiant for a rehearsal dinner
- all day availability the day of the ceremony
- filing of the marriage license
Our wedding services begin with our Wedding Ceremony Planning Guide, a booklet of over fifty pages of sample ceremonies, sample vows, and sample readings (both biblical and non-biblical). Using the booklet as a starting point, we integrate whatever materials you wish to use in your ceremonies into a seamless presentation of the love you share. Our wedding officiants are experienced professionals, well skilled at keeping you relaxed on a very exciting day!
Premarital Counseling
Currently St. Francis Old Catholic Church does not require premarital counseling in order to marry a couple. The rector does, however, require a meeting with the prospective spouses to get to know the couple to ensure the couple understands the commitment they are entering into.
The fee for a marriage license is $99.50. However, license applicants who have completed a premarital preparation course within a year prior to the date of application for the license are exempted from paying $60.00 of this fee. The couple must provide a Certificate of Completion form that has been completed and signed by the course provider. (Course provider's signature on the Certificate of Completion must be notarized). St. Francis Old Catholic Church is an authorized provider of premarital counseling and can provide the certificate of completion of the minimum of 4 hours of premarital counseling. St. Francis Old Catholic Church offers the premarital preparation course for a donation of $40.00.
